SAILING THE STORM

SAILING THE STORM

When sailing upon drifting water,
I gaze upon the horizon of the sky;
To fnd a shore upon land
Only to find a gorge where no harbor rests.

I search far and wide for the beacon of the lighthouse to guide me;
but its beam is very distant and the wind is very fierce.

My sail is wearing from the rifts of current--
Yet its my destiny to carry on
To maintin my focus,
I must perserve
And overcome the fury of obstacles that surround me.

I feel isolated upon these waters that do not pacify my fear.
The nebuli of the clouds perpetuate the doubt that tempts my mind.
To turn around seems so satiable,
Yet in choosing, my destination will never be reached.

So I gaze upon the horizon,
The pupil of eye affixed to the tiny speckle of light I see, The passion of my heart guiding me closer
To the glow of its heavenly spark
For it is speaking to my soul;
Urging me to carry on.

While the world outside of me is fighting;
I am stronger from the inside,
My sould is led by the sight of its desire

That at a center of shifting panaroma
The skies heavens open up a canopy,
An a deeper touch beauty glistens upon my face
That what has brought me forth through this challange
Has made the stakes and struggle worth every moment, and the value of its course surely signifies forever what it means.

For struggle can turn majestic,
When one with their own heart and soul shall carry through,
While surely one will face the drift of wind, the rip of tide, the flood of deluge;
Yet to arrive at the emabrking of dream
One you may not have ever knew
Surely is worth the hardship that may seem,
For it will in the end instill a more positive disposition, and view.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
