    Poem Commentary

    1994

    This poem was written after watching a
    Daniell Steel's movie,  where 2 people were having an affair and now wanting to hide his dirt under the rug the man tried to force the woman into an abortion situation of which she refused..
    Abortion is a painful word due to the fact that many of us have participated one way or another.
    I am not saying this to judge  anyone only that my heart goes out to those who have suffered from a loss of a baby in one form or fashion.

    Heart Beat

     She loved him so deeply 
    back to her he gave
    until the road they walked
    became unevenly paved
    a seed began to grow
    hidden in the dark
    into a rage he flew
    I don't want it he harped
    go to the Doctor
    let this madman be the one
    to undo the harm
    thats already been done
    with tears and sad face
    she climbed upon the table
    quietly she faught
    to keep her own mind stable
    then somewhere down deep
    she found courage to say

    forget it Doc then she knew
    if she did this so called act
    regrets would haunt her insane
    she kept the life and lost her man
    and he had the nerve to not understand
    the road was rocky to say the least
    but locked in her were calm and peace.

    this was a great read...i was able to actually visualize what she was going through

    Thank you I was shocked to get a 10 not used to my work being excepted.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
