If I could

  • I'm currently turning my poems into songs. A little re-writing here and there. Would be grateful to find someone who can write music. If anyone knows someone who can write music or who can sing, send them my way.

If I could

If I could live forever
Happy I would not be
Seeing loved ones die
Strangers, friends and family

If I could bring the dead back to life
And bring my loved ones back
They wouldn't be who I remembered
In fact I might be their snack

If I see through walls
My vision would have to adjust
I might bust my face
My vision I could not trust

If I could fly around the world
And travel anywhere
People would ask me for a ride
And be mad if I asked for a fare

If I could see through clothing
And see everyone nude
I'd have a hard time getting dressed
Besides I think it might be rude

If I could control time
And go to the future or the past
Soon I think the novelty of it
Just wouldn't last

It might be nice at times to think
That having powers is the key
But with great powers there also comes
Heart break, pain and agony

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
