Little Black Girl (1/10/2008)
I want to be the best
That anyone has ever seen
I want to do the outrageous
And nobody would believe
That a little black girl
Would make her dreams come true
Making her parents proud
And her ancestors too
Its time to make a difference
And stand for what is right
Time to get justice
And for that I shall fight
Fight for the rights
Fight for the freedom
Fight for the peace
Fight for what I would become
One day I will see
The true meaning of civil rights
One day I will die
But now I will just live my life
Cannot give up hope now
Must stay strong and believe
Cannot push aside influences I made
Must continue to succeed
So let my people go
Stop the killing and wars
Stop blaming one another
And open up the right doors
For that little black girl
TO pursue her dreams
Support her wishes
And let her know you are there
She strives for the best
So that everyone will see
She will do something outrageous
That everyone will believe
Saying "Wow, look at that little black girl"
Now such a strong black woman
She stood for what was right
And finally become something.
That anyone has ever seen
I want to do the outrageous
And nobody would believe
That a little black girl
Would make her dreams come true
Making her parents proud
And her ancestors too
Its time to make a difference
And stand for what is right
Time to get justice
And for that I shall fight
Fight for the rights
Fight for the freedom
Fight for the peace
Fight for what I would become
One day I will see
The true meaning of civil rights
One day I will die
But now I will just live my life
Cannot give up hope now
Must stay strong and believe
Cannot push aside influences I made
Must continue to succeed
So let my people go
Stop the killing and wars
Stop blaming one another
And open up the right doors
For that little black girl
TO pursue her dreams
Support her wishes
And let her know you are there
She strives for the best
So that everyone will see
She will do something outrageous
That everyone will believe
Saying "Wow, look at that little black girl"
Now such a strong black woman
She stood for what was right
And finally become something.
