    Something You Must Know(7/26/2007)

A father always knows when he lets go of something precious
His feelings are building up inside
It makes it hard not to cry
Well there is something you must know
I am not that little girl anymore
But as I venture off into the real world out on my own
I do not know if you know this
But I am afraid to be alone
So when I need a hand to grasp
    When I am falling
    An embrace to run to
    When I am hurting inside
    A shoulder to lean on
    Why I have to cry
Advice to learn and grow from
Speak on when I seem to be confused
I know when I open the door
    The person knocking is you
    Walking away...
    I am walking...
    Out into the world
I got my diploma and you tell me
" I am proud of you...I love you babygirl"
Well there is something you must know...
    "I love you too."

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
