My Friend Heartbreak...

Poem Commentary

Well my friends, it was fun writing the love poems while the love was still in me, but the love is gone now... I kinda set myself up for this one... I already knew the consequences and now, I must lay down and hold hands with heartbreak...

My Friend Heartbreak...

My friend heartbreak has returned

From the cold corner I left her in

She is back to consume my soul

So that she will be my only friend

She turns my blue skies black

And causes my world to flood

But she leaves me with no water for tears

So I drown in my tears of blood

Every pulse of my beating heart hurts

And the pain cries out for the grave

There is a knife piercing through my chest

And I'm bleeding out on the page

As I lay me down to rest and say my prayers before I sleep

Heartbreak comes to bed with me, my wife forever to keep
