    Poem Commentary

I wrote this for a special someone. This is the very first poem I have done free verse

    Starcrossed Love

    I've been waiting for you...

I have been here on my seat at the center of the universe

    Waiting countless eons for you...

I watched the cosmos come to life with the stars that would bring you my way and I smiled in anticipation of your essence...and I continued to wait...

As the sun and the moon danced around the newborn earth, I rejoiced and came to rest on the livid planet. I sat in tranquility for millenia and silently smiled, knowing that you would soon be more than just a dream...and still I waited

    Until one day, time froze...

All of the stars in the heavens alligned and gave new life to a being so radiant that in that very moment the stars in the sky were all at once eclipsed. In the middle of stillness, I saw you in all of your divine beauty as you streaked across the sky and descended upon the earth.

I opened my arms wide as I saw you descend the sky. After countless eons of waiting, I would finally hold you and experience all that you are...

As you floated into my arms, tears streamed down my face.

Finally,I can hold you and run my fingers through your hair, made of the silk of the night sky

Finally, I can caress your glowing face and gaze into you eyes, hewn from the stars themselves

Finally, you can return my smile with your own as we walk hand in hand across the sky.

You may not remember, but I do...

I've been waiting for you since the beginning of time...

You fell from a star and now you rest in my arms. So tonight as we look up at the night sky and trace the constellations, just remember that you were once the brightest star in the sky.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
