    No Fairy Tale

I wish, I wish upon the brightest of the stars
To make it through today with just one less scar
Mirror , mirror tilted and cracked on the wall
Why did you not tell me I had so far to fall
Drugs are my poisoned apple, and have done so much harm
No longer a prince among men, no more witt, no more charm
My choices have caused me to act like I do not care in the least
I love my wife who is the beauty, but have lost me, the beast
You are the princess of my castle, now and until forever
At the stroke of midnight I pray I will turn into something better
Jack and Jill went up the hill, to party in the sun
I stayed to long, partied to hard, and took away the fun
I am looking on the ground for the crumbs to lead the way
Back into your heart and arms is where I long to stay
I can not keep living at the very crazy pace
Mirror, mirror please look me straight in the face
Look into the future and tell me how it will all turn out
I do not wish to continue if there is any kind of doubt
I wish , I wish upon a star that things are going to get better
Align the stars and I will follow the plan right down to the letter
Life is hard and is certainly no fairy tale story
Its time to live the life the stars have put before me

Johnny - you are bursting out with talent that isnt being realized. Life was hard on you - you made it harder. Now, get over it. Blossom in the night. I hope you understand - I am trying to encourage you to move on with your life. No point in - what do they say? - crying over spilt milk.

so many great lines in this piece ... LOVE the "fairy tale that's no fairy tale" angle, and all the connections you've made there ... and the sentiment is un-matched ... this piece speaks of turning points and transition and determination ... and owning one's choices ... very nice share ...

This is a great poem, I could really feel the emotion. The fairy tale angle makes it unique and you've made it work very well. Awesome job.
