Silently Screaming

Silently Screaming

I awake each morning with pain in my mind , body , and heart
So many things I can not control, where do I even start
How can I convey a lifetime of hurt, torment, and shame
Its like fitting the bible on a piece of rice, a single grain
Do not get me wrong, I know I certainly do not suffer alone
Everyone has struggles and sins for which to atone
Even when I am alone I find myself silently screaming
Ripping, tearing through the pain, hoping for healing
Guilt eats me alive from the inside out
Killing me daily without any doubt
I stumble towards the future as I trip over the past
Beating myself up so often, I need a full body cast
I am reaping  the horrors of the many terrors I did sow
Please tell me how to silence the screams, I need to know
How long before all the good I have been doing
Changes what I am reaping, so I can keep going
I have to grapple every single day
with the very thoughts that caused me to go astray
I pray that one day soon the screams will just cease
So that I may live out the rest of my days with some kind of peace

Ilove this one...I have been silently screaming inside for most of my life...So many ppl know you but just what's on the outside...no one knows or wants to know the real you on the inside...Great Poem

I can completely relate. It takes a long time for all the good we do to finally catch up with us while all the bad that we have done seems to be running just ahead. Very well said. M-Robb
