Northern Lights
I shed a tear or two.
Down my cheeks , they trail into the oblivion of what was once true.
In my heart I know I was right.
I know it wasn’t our night.
In my mind I can hear your thoughts as though you stand before me, arms reaching.
In my head I know this isn’t certain.
This isn’t what I thought it could have been.
My heart and mind collide.
Head on collision that lead to my suicide.
There is no blood shed, so don't fear of my death but of my heart that leap from my chest.
A hole in so wide, your arms can slip through the other side.
Closing my eyes, I stare up at the sky.
The stars above me, only one captures my eye.
Follow me, it says.
I will lead you to safety .
Take my hand, it says.
The warmth of me will melt away the fragments that you wish to hide.
You're not alone, it says.
Nothing and no one will ever make you feel the solitude your mind has grown accustomed to.
Rest your eyes my dear.
In the morning you will see clearer.

Rest your eyes my dear.
In the morning you will see clearer.
