"How the west was won" 8-24-08
I'm knock,knock,knocking on heavens door
but no one answers
there's no one home
So I slip a note in the box........it reads.....
"I dont know how to tell you
that there's a fire in my heart
but not much left to burn
I long to run away
but I've nowhere left to turn
Every time I close my eyes I see you
but your eyes,
they always look right through me
I guess now I can see,
thats the way it's got to be
I say,"it doesn't matter all that much"
as I stand outside myself and cry
because I've learned to run so fast
that the hurt cant catch me.....and soon.....
I'll be past the point of even caring anymore
Running west.......
as the sun runs from me.
but no one answers
there's no one home
So I slip a note in the box........it reads.....
"I dont know how to tell you
that there's a fire in my heart
but not much left to burn
I long to run away
but I've nowhere left to turn
Every time I close my eyes I see you
but your eyes,
they always look right through me
I guess now I can see,
thats the way it's got to be
I say,"it doesn't matter all that much"
as I stand outside myself and cry
because I've learned to run so fast
that the hurt cant catch me.....and soon.....
I'll be past the point of even caring anymore
Running west.......
as the sun runs from me.
