Poem Commentary

I breathe your love: it is my air, my element, my world. I know no other ambiance; I have no other dream.

September

I quietly walked along the beach that September day, my mind filled with dreams of love, happiness and peace, that special person, who would surely, eventually come my way —

And, it was on Monterey Bay, this day you came into my life, a stranger drifting in from the blustery tide; seemingly undeterred from its mighty waves… and so aimlessly you strolled through the hazy morning mist, and you did approach me with a gentle attitude… like the fog rolling in, we became entwined as seaweed, and your closeness became apparent and I found you by my side—

September, a time when summer silently fades; giving way to autumn… which boldly emerges from a tapestry of colors, sounds, and untamed winds; September became you, a woman of mystique, and I found my heart no longer lonely, but instead filled with the essence and desire of wanting you—

September, when you first embraced me, it was splendid! Your sweet caresses, soft whispers, and a touch, no other but my soul mate could provided reassurance... and truly the passion and sensation you gave unto me, needed no words to feel such harmony—

September, your kiss on my lips was something I’d long for through those long hot days of summer, but, with a single kiss, the intensity of your love offered subtle notions that became so incredibly clear!

Your eyes pierced me with emotion so intense it was beyond belief; the mere presence of you, released a caring and unconditional love, and your scent made me shiver with excitement unleashing my erotic inhibitions and plights of fantasies—

September, each passing moment your smile filled my heart with a joy like no other, and because of this, I began to love you in a way that no man has ever loved a woman.  You became forbidden, unreal, imaginary… an intriguing array of intense colors, unimaginable beauty, and deep delectable notions of expression, that concealed your secret inhibitions; you quenched any thirsts that I had —

September, your smile and radiant beauty reflects your opened and sensual petals of giving and sharing; you are your own distinctive self with your own identity; unique as a winter’s snowflake.  You bring a quiet comfort to my soul—

September, I do not want to imagine you not being here to share my days and nights; for my life would be so incomplete… for you are my heart, my soul the ‘oneness’ I had known to seek—

Without you I merely exist from day to day with you I know that I will find all that I have been searching for...

September you are my completeness, my eternal peace of mind; because you are the keeper of my dreams; the woman who holds my heart in her hands; the one I want to spend my life with; the one with whom I will always stand—

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
