No Words Need to be Spoken

Poem Commentary

Why do I show worry, perhaps my utterance becomes passive, and, why does my interpolation about you appear subtle and muted… Why, because it's my own fear of being misunderstood and remaining a stranger in your heart—

No Words Need to be Spoken

You asked me, how do I feel about you?

And, with hesitation, I pause and wither

My mind ponders so, and with a deep and frustrating sigh,

I find myself at a loss for words…

The mere thought of your question, brings tears to my eyes—

For there are so many words that describe you,

And yet, actually there are none…

Because no words need to be spoken;

How can you explain that one emotion?

A feeling brought on by so many hidden reasons—

And, how do you explain my unspoken desire…

A feeling which brings such comfort,  as  I go through life’s

Tapestry of unrehearsed and changing seasons;

You asked me, how do I feel about you?

Perhaps, I miss understood you…

For naturally, I assumed that my actions… spoke for me—
