Poetry... The Quiet World Within Me

I am a traveler with pen and paper in hand, on a journey in search of my harmony.  But, unlike you, I travel an inward journey to a world of quiet closeness; for this is the poetry inside of me, this is the essence of my of destiny.

This world of poetry belongs to me, made up of feelings, ideas and emotion.  And even as I travel through the outside world, I’m always trying to keep in touch with who I am; always seeking out wonders of the quiet world within me… a world of expression, marked by a path leading to my experiences, my sensations, my interactions and untold stories.

I am a poet, a questioner… always wanting reasons, needing to know why, seeking the serenity of certainty, and wondering if love will find me one more time.  Etched along the way on my path are indelible footprints… that cast the reflections of spellbound secrets; the silhouettes of my memories; footprints that reveal a quiet sense of awe to those who dare to explore the possibilities.

My poetry brings to me, my own distinctive self; different among all the other poets with the inspiration and desire to truly express my emotions, opinions and beliefs; my poetry gives me a sense of quiet pride and uniqueness.  In writing, I find that one note in harmony within a symphony of artistic expression; stories composed of words filled with friendship and love.

Within myself, I am constant, yet I am as ever changing as the people who interpret me.  I am merely an idea conceived in the mind of the universe, and interpreted in the minds of individuals I meet and choose to share a part of my quiet world of poetry.

many of us live lives where the inner voice is so quiet it is (almost) inaudible. That inner voice has forgotten the words to think for itself, it knows not how to say anything. A poem comes along, the inner voice finds strength, recognises the fellow traveller, recognises the words, and now the words have meaning. absolutely brilliant. so personal. and we applaud while feeling a little envious.

Altun... My fellow poet, I am truly touched by your perspective and consideration of my work. Your analysis brought meaning and depth to my message; actually I never envisioned poetry, art or music in this way. It is so refreshing how your insight and personal reflection regarding the inner voice brought to light an awakening in me; an appreciation and value of another's journey in the art of expression... thank you! thejazzpoet

WOW.... Are you my conscience? I feel like I know you. I could not have said this any better myself. I LOVE THIS PIECE..

My fellow poet... in essence, you do know me, for we drift, wandering aimlessly along the shores of life. Our souls are submerged in sameness; and unconsciously, we journey in search of common ground to share; and as the shadows of one, we merge towards likeness— thanks for the inspiring words; being your conscience is not a bad thing... thejazzpoet

You truly defined who you are and where you are at this time in life. These words are so unique as they describe your longings and feelings. Again your words have touched me and make me really think about how i feel about myself and where i'm trying to go in life.

patlee... thank you so much for your insight. when I wrote this piece about a month ago, I was feeling pretty good about myself; sure there are still challenges, adversities, and setbacks in reaching my targeted goals; but I've been blessed with the ability to express myself... through my world of poetry. thejazzpoet

I love this one. My writings are my footprints and makes me who I am. It doesn't matter if I am searching inwardly or outwardly it's all of who I am. I like the way it flows.

when one can escape in time for just a few precious moments; experience the calmness and inner glow of contentment; relinquish all thoughts and acts of despair... this is the time when you step into your private world and cherish the gift of expression through poetry. thejazzpoet
