    Snow flakes

Once a snowflake touched my cheek
And kissed, loving me so much
    I snuggled its silky chest,
He called his sisters and a
    Mob of flakes enveloped me
And I felt them cherish me.
    I loved them all and
    I squished within my fingers
    And I became the icycle
    Hanging on the roof ledge
    So perfectly still.
    I slid down a raindrop
    And became that snowflake
    Cherished still.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
