    THE AMERICAN DREAM

They came in their ships to a new land

With peace they offered their hands

They lied and decieved to the people they saw

Then built a new country on genocide and war

Ever since then the guns been the law

They built a big nation home of the brave

While the only true braves where sent to their graves

Imported the black man to use as slaves

Contradiction is what you may say

Reading their history makes me ashamed

The day they shot Martin Luther King

Was the day the American dream died

The day they shot Martin Luther King

Was the day the American dream Died

One bullet kissed the whole dream goodbye

The statue of bigotry said I welcome you all

They came in their thousands for a piece of the pie

Used as lackies and two dollar whores

The rich kept getting richer masters whipped the slaves

Here was the real truth of the freedom they craved

The outlaw became a hero guns became kings

The almighty dollar ruled the whole damn thing

The legend emblazed In God we trust

A new book of rules followed by fools

Created a fantasy to cover the truth

The day they shot Martin Luther King

Was the day the American dream died

shot full of holes by a very sick mind

Now I dont know about you but to me it stinks

Money and power thats built to destroy

The land of the free is the land of the Lie

    How can democracy justify slaves

You'll never find the truth its just bought and sold

Now they've spread money throughout the world

When you cant pay they take your land

Nothing personal I hope you understand

We just need more for our weapons you see

Stratigically placed we are at their command

The day they shot Martin Luther King

Was the day the American dream died

An interesting piece indeed, I liked it even tho it was a bit long, good message and much truth. What would most living here think? I was not surprised at the truth, only saddened. I may have to take a crack at a statement piece, would you mind?

Very intense & straight to the point. the rich get richer & the poorer get poorer I wonder what king would say if he saw us today.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
