    • Finding my wings. Be they of feather or leather, I shall wear them with pride, for they are my own..

    The dark of your abscence

    Bathed in rays of sun,
    a shadow still covers me.
    Missing you in ways,
    I can't really explain.

    I miss the sound,
    of you breathing.
    I also miss them eyes,
    they always brought hope.

    And that bright smile,
it would make a heart fly.
    Laughter, in it's newest form,
    still sighes within me.

Oh yes, I do have friends,
    and thier light is great.
    But yours is the one,
    special from all others.

    I close my eyes,
    your smile hides there.
    And your rays of innocence,
    rain down apon me.

    In your light I see,
    the best of two halfs.
A smile touches me, of what was,
it broadens, with dreams of will be.

    Holding you, I felt alive,
    protecting you, I had purpose.
My heart sings, an angels song,
    and the darkness, slips back.

    Then I open my eyes,
    finding it just a thought.
    A tear streams, slowly down,
my heart sinks, as the song fades.

And I'm once more holding blame,
because I refuse to cast it.
Hanging my head, to face my peers,
as the darkness closes once more.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
