Land of the heart

Land of the heart

Like the rabbit, caught in the crucifix shadow of the owl,

I am frozen in fear and wonder.

To see the landscape we have created,

through both chaos and peace.

Cradleing silence I wait for the day,

storms of your fury or the touch of your passion.

Either will suffice the wait,

change the terrian with mountians or brooks.

The soft satin winds of your praise,

smoothing stone easily as sand.

The scarlet laughter of your madness,

ripping trenches through the terrian.

Scarred and brutal, smooth as glass,

I hunker in the awe of our world.

Tangled reflections of yesterday,

eating slowly away at the visions of tommorow.

very nice words, the darkness and visionary aspects are sick

excellent descriptions ... one of the best poems i have read on here ... i admire the darkness in the poetry.

The imagery is incredible. Very moving. And there seem to be so many layers of meaning, just waiting to be unraveled!

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
