The Decade Dance
Counting your ten toes and fingers.
Oh my ! how the time goes.
Looking in a number book and learning to
count to ten.
Oh god how i wish it was still back then.
Watching crawl, talk and walk, how the
time went , like a washed away piece of
chalk. Now I watch you giggle and smile
with much flair and style. Your eyes
change like magic, the color and the
mood. As I watch your silk spun hair
blow into the midnight moon.
You are my princess without a doubt
Life without you I could not do without.
Your smile brightens my day, your
laughter lightens my load. So now shall
we dance under a starry lit sky? A
dance of celebration to my baby girl
who is now 10. No more Barbies, Its
Teen Beat ,nail polish and lip gloss.
Where did my lil one go?
I watch her smile and her face and
self grow, it hurts to see this butterfly
bloom, but I know I will have to let
her go all too soon. Now a child , so
let the grass grow deep under your
feet , cause you know My Juliet
Someday you will grow even more
not have all that grass under your
feet. Stop now under this starry sky
and lets do the decade dance!
