    The Devil Speaks Softly

The devil speaks softly while we sleep,
We think we are dreaming, and we weep.

We awaken to whispers of humor and smile,
Promises of fortune and all the while.

He waits in shadows for a chance to attack,
We stand aside and turn our back.

He dashes around us and prances in glee
Thinking he is a horseman and then we flee.

Rich, healthy, and love, that is true. Thank you for your comment.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
