The Lollipop and the Turtle

The Lollipop and the Turtle

There once was a turtle with a lollipop.
He licked and licked until the lollipop was gone.
His friend, the fox, stole his 2nd lollipop.
Then, fox ran to hide in a pond.

Turtle found fox 10 minutes later.
Fox ate the lollipop already and turtle was too late.
Turtle wanted that lollipop so bad.
He wanted fox in a crate.

Turtle was upset and ran to his house.
He went up to his room and thought about fox.
He didn't want fox hurt.
So, he didn't want fox in a box.

Fox visited turtle's house 15 minutes later.
Fox apologized  to turtle and they were friends again.
They will be nice to each other from then on.
They will be friends until the end.

This is really cute. I like the way that the poem's train of thought kind of skips around yet retains a very distict pattern

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
