The Way I Choose To Remain.

Another day has come to pass.
And that feeling has come at last.
This feeling I can not explain.
    But it does interchange.
It's very rare that it's the same.
Once again I must maintain a full conscience.
So as not to go insane.
With this feeling I must remember to abstain,
    From things that remain untamed.
This feeling it is not my own to complain.
For it is not my own to claim.
But I do not wish to complain,
    I wish to explain.
    But you are not understand,
Until you come to love Jehovah,
The way I choose to remain.
On the path in which I will sustain.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
