Their path is not our own

Their path is not our own

So often in life things happen for reasons we cant explain
Because of those experiences our lives are forever changed

We encounter souls who ignite our emotions and force us to feel
Or discover a kind of love we never believed was real

Instead of embracing the possibilities we give way to fear
Question motives because the future is unclear

Drawn together by more than just chance
We struggle to find our rhythm and learn to dance

So caught up in the new emotions we feel
Taking things so personal or making a much bigger deal

If we could learn to leave those fears behind
Trust in a much greater love that we can find

For we are upon this earth to heal and grow
Destined to move on to where we need to go

Others can only hurt us if we believe their words are true
Although they may cause us sorrow....they may be on another path as you!

Don't judge them harshly for their mission is not our own
Love them with compassion showing just how much we've grown

You can hear the experience in this poem. You have been to difficult emotional places and survived. So many in the world are like that-thrown off a horse and then forced to walk around to find another way, another path. Let the other go, let the horse off the hook. it doesn't pay to bottle up oneself and let it affect the future with the loved ones all around. we americans are battle scared and worn but not defeated. It's beautiful. you don't have to use rhyme if it doesn't work all the time.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
