    Scars of pain

I try not to let my scars show from my pain
So much has happened that can never be changed

I pray for the strength to hold on a little longer
If I can make it, I know I will emerge better and stronger

Only one direction I can go from here
If I don't allow the darkness to paralyze me with fear

I refuse to let them see me break
Whats left of my soul I wont allow them to take

Is this a test in order to achieve greater things
There has to be something bigger that all this suffering brings

I have come to far to give up now
I have to find a way to make it through some how

You see me wounded and weak lying on the ground
I reach out my hand for help... suddenly there is no one around

I have paid the price for all your insecurities
You tried to break my spirit and make me the enemy

It was you who judged me with out a chance
I was tried and convicted with just one glance

I wont let you take me down
I will rise above without even a sound

I wont let you see me fall
For my sentence is not your call

You wont stop me from reaching my dreams
You just push me to drive even harder, is all it means

When I am at the top looking down
I will reach out my hand to those weak and lying on the ground

You may have caused me to stumble and fall
When I pick myself up...... my integrity will say it all

we all have skinned knees. they are best when scared. It means you are not crawling anymore. i like this poem, going down swinging.

There is nothing like a woman's determination to see her through even the roughest of times. From the sound of this any stumble on your part is a minor bump on the road to achievement. Many will find their own courage in your words. A splendid gift. ~Pamela

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
