    To Dance

    I run to You
    Seeking refuge- solitude;
    Yet, in the silence
    I desire Your voice to speak-
    As clearly as you speak to babes
    That sit on this world and play.
    I seek Your wisdom here
    Among the wind- despite
    The silence of my voice.
    Lord, show me Your heart,
    Reveal to me simple things
    That I might be confounded by
    Them- that I might better understand
    This thing that You call love.

    The love of a Father,
    A Friend,
    And a Savior.

    A love that reaches across
    My shoulders and holds me,
    Embracing all that is me-
    Creative and not.
    You are my Refuge, Lord-
    That is what I seek
    Here in Your hollowed place;
    What our relationship has made
    Holy- a place that leaves me homesick.
    So sing over me,
    I can hear you on the waves.
    Oh God, my Mighty Counselor...
    I desire what You have for me.

    If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
