    To Mom

It's a different kind of day in the moonlight
It's a different kind of night with the stars dimmed down
The wind is my gray cat moving in the shadows
Reaching out her paw to touch my hair
In a different kind of time I walk where my grandfather walked
Across his land in the moonlight

As I read this I was thinking of my mom.... I miss her and I probably didn't get the message or see the point of To Mom.... Redboodink

It's kind of obscure. I usually just number my poems rather than title them, however my Mom has loved the farm and her Dad who settle here and built the house. The poem is sort of about family continuity which would please my Mom if she were still alive.

Well no matter what the reader sees the writer always knows the true meaning... Peace and love

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
