    Unforgetable Destruction

    Did you honestly think
I would ever forget what you did?
    Seven years of my life
Went to you and your little games
And I was too blind to see.

I could have had so much better
But I was stuck on you.
    Deserving so much better
    Settling for so much less.

I should have seen it coming.
I didn’t want to believe it.
I told myself it was nothing.
I gave you the benefit of the doubt.
I said it would be okay,
    I should have known.

    The trivial fights
    The endless nights
    The lying, cheating, drugs
    Still, I stayed with you.

    You deceived me.
    You tore my life apart.
    I gave you everything
    I ever had.

You left me then had the nerve
    Too say you cared.
You stole my hopes and dreams.
    You betrayed me.
    You left me with nothing.

You want me to forgive you.
You want to be back in my life.
But why would I let you back
After everything you put me through?

    I stopped talking
    To everyone for you.
    I gave you my life.

    Then you turned around
And said I screwed around on you

When you’re the one that admitted
    To cheating on me.
    How does that work?

It was unfortunate you were so blind, and left with all of this anger and frustration. Love knows no cage and long term relationships are over rated. A good "shame on you" write!

This is a very good poem- it is very honest and truthful in feeling and you express the pain good-when I read this it hits me.

the pain you are going through must be unbearable. Its hard when you put everything into a relationship and receive nothing in return. but, know you have friends who care. great write, with lots of emotion.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
