  • I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not

untitled

Why am I the one you're leaving out?
Who's the one that's sorry now?
The shades have been pulled in my lonely heart,
I know how it feels to be torn apart.
I feel the darkness caving in,
Why do I suffer for your sin?
When your love left, another came, all their faces looked the same.
Greater expectations of another,
Now the emptiness feeds my hunger,
So i'll sit and force a hollow smile,
But is it worth my while?
In this state of denial?
I wish I could wake up.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
