    • I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not

    Something Strange

    Look of perpetual astonishment,
Has others wondering what they've missed,
Laughing when there is no joke,
Dancing when there is no sound,
    Speaking of seahorses and stars...

Walk directly into the ravaging sun.
Do I need a reason to behave this way?

Light in my eyes as I spread my wings,
    Flying away to better things,
This life's taken a toll on me,
But my eyes are dry and my hands are clean

Change of seasons in my mind,
    Change directions, draw new lines

Night takes me by the hand,
    Happier now today...
    Don't let me down...
In my head I've got everything I want

I love this poem, very inspiring message woven in there. The first stanza made me smile, it reminded me of Bob Marleys 'Pimpers Paradise'. Haha, excellant write. -Spence

This is really awesome! It seems you've broken down some barriers in this piece. And it's also pretty cool that you just threw out there that you shouldn't need a reason to behave that way. Completely Awesome!

    thank you!!!!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
