Voice In The Wind
A voice I am hearing, deep in the wind.
Don't know where it's going,
don't know where it's been.
I've got to find the voice,
that whispers my name,
it almost sounds like,
a voice in true pain.
What does it want?
Am I going insane?
I need to start following,
following my name,
as I struggle to get through,
the trees, fog and rain,
got to find the voice,
that whispers my name,
over and over and over again.
My ears they do peak for my vision is bleak,
I'm following the sound but it's faded and weak.
I stumble on a tree, that's narrow and sleek,
It's there when I see her, down by the creek.
I run to her side, my eyes opened wide,
the fear it's all building, way deep inside.
She opened her mouth, she was going to confide
but the words on her tongue, they would not slide.
I wanted to help her, really I tried,
we went to the hospital, I got us a ride,
the rules of the road we did not abide,
but that didn't matter, she was dead on arrive,
her death they have ruled,... a suicide.
