Waiting Arms
I catch a glimpse of the man in black.
Just his back,
He has a scythe leaning over his shoulder.
All my motions seem slower.
It feels like time is becoming still.
He's going to kill.
You can not escape death.
All though we could try to our last breath.
He turns, he knows where I'm hiding.
There I sit still deciding...
Should I run? Should I give in?
Goosebumps begin to cover my skin...
I have an eerie feeling I know what must be done.
I stand to see death look me in the eye, stunned.
"I am not scared of death," say I.
So there I stand to take my last breath,
As death pulls me in.
He says with a grin.
"Your mortal life has come to an end.
I believe someone is waiting for you, my friend."
I walk into the light,
to my surprise I find more of my kind.
I look closer,
And standing at the center is my father.
His arms are wide open like he's been waiting for me.
I now know this is where I'm suppose to be.
