Poem Commentary

Another team effort, again with my chica Jessica. <3 you, hon!

We Were -Perfect-.

Confused, lonely,
Am I coming to an end?
What will come to me next?
Is suicide the answer?
All alone, dark place.
No one here, but I see your face.
Is your face the light to guide me
through the dark?
Will you stay my shining light?
Abandonded, by everyone but him,
Could it be, do I actually love him?!
It must be so!
What will come to me?!
Slice my wrists, rip out my heart,
I think the end is near,
too near to me.
Drowned in my blood,
look at what you caused!
Cry all you like, it won't help.
I'm too far gone, do you miss me yet?
I don't think you do, but I still love you.
That's why we were perfect.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
