    What Men really fear

There are four little words from which men cower
They steal our strength and they sap our power
We run for cover, we shrivel and shrink
Our eyes turn glassy and our brains won't think
We panic, we sweat, we surrender to gloom
We beg an escape but were stuck in the room
Cornered and caught we shiver in fear
from four little words on way to our ear
There is no reprieve from the hour or clock
    When she utters those words,
    "We need to tak!"

I really liked this. It must be awful to hear those words! I'm sure my boyfriend would agree lol. I liked as I was reading this I was taken in by your words to where I could enjoy them and see myself saying that and feeling his reaction. Great job!

thanks for your comment! As a young man I cringed-as an old man I laugh. Learn to see the humor in your relationship and the two of you will laugh together till the end of time.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
