    Poem Commentary

    I was given the title in a creative writing class and had to write the poem, this is what I came up with!

    You Washed Your Bones With Wine

     You washed your bones with wine
    And drowned your soul in tears
    I see it as a sign that
    You have so many fears

    Somewhere in that strong drink
    You lost the knowledge of yourself
    If you would only stop to think
    You'd take your heart down off that shelf

    You washed your bones with wine
    And lost your self-esteem
    You think that you'll be fine
    Though your hope is but a dream

    It's time for you to stop drinking
    And realize you are sinking
    Come on, baby
    What are you thinking
