    A Bittersweet Gift

    A Bittersweet Gift

Like crepe paper in the wind

My heart can barely contain itself

She gave me her hand as a friend

And her heart as a sister

She was a part of me

When she left and crossed over

My heart was no longer whole

I walked alone, carrying pieces of my paper heart

    Then He found me

He was the glue that held me together

He found my smile when I thought it was gone forever

In this empty shell of mine

    He found love

My heart still aches for her.

I lost my sister and I can’t have her back

I miss her so much it hurts

To hear her voice, to see her smile

    Maybe, just maybe

    She gave me something more

Something she knew that would help me see

    That life goes on

    That love still exists
