    A Change in Destiny

     Alone, I have walked this journey
    Purposely to find my power
    It was decided before I began

    Paving the path of loneliness
    So not to affect another
    Embracing battles, solitary wins

    I laid the bricks that confine me
    Believing in my own falsehood
    Building a life I thought was triumphant

    Change and growth inhibit me now
    A clear vision of my future
    A need to transform before I begin

    Empty soul; a wilted flower
    Vulnerability hidden
    Sowing the seed where depression lies deep

    Who am I now?  Where did I go?
    There is so much to discover
    Brick by brick breakdown to realization

    Digging deep, plowing and planting
    Irrigating a different garden
    There is a budding flower within me

    Ready to find love of thy self
    And fulfill those dreams that I lost
    Extreme enough to run, hard and steady

    A new destiny awaits
