A SLOW DANCE WITH MY FATHER
I sat in the dark room not being able to see anyone and no one being able to see me. I had put on my finest dress and it was going unnoticed. I could hear some of the words of the voices that were speaking but recognized none of the music that was being played. After being in the dark for so long I began to grow tired. Just when I thought I would give up and go home I heard them playing my song. For a brief moment in-between songs enough light came across the dance floor for me to see this figure summoning me to come. I got up and began to draw close to this figure and it did likewise. As we reached the middle of the dance floor, this figure, which now looked more and more like my Father, stretched forth His hands and pulled me close to Him. I looked up to see the face but seemed to be blinded by the ballroom light.
He greeted me with a kiss of salvation on my forehead. He placed His arms over my shoulders as if to let me know He has me covered. I wrapped my arms around His waist of truth and laid my head on His chest of righteousness. I knew then this is my Father! And we began to slow dance to our song. Because we moved so gracefully the spotlight was on us. People could now see my beautiful new dress. And I was spiritually swept off my feet with the song of peace as me and my Father danced the night away.
