A Walk
I walk so slowly into the night
as shadows dance with true delight
Fireflies light the path ahead
memories of the past are in my head
My feet get lighter and a smile on my lips
the child takes over as I start to skip
People look at me oddly and turn away
what once was a walk has turned to play
I laugh out loud to a joke once told
dance if you want, your never to old
You hear some music and start to sing
of love once had, its a beautiful thing
Turn up the driveway, reach for the door
hear the sound of footsteps on the floor
You see the faces you've always known
and hear their voices "daddies home"
