    Poem Commentary

My view of the "other" side of death.

    So Cold

I lay there and feel the cold. It is so cold! Is it the ground I'm lying on, or is it my life escaping me? I try to focus. Try to figure out how I got here. What happened? I see my blood in front of me on the floor. So red, so cold. I keep blinking... rapidly. Scared that if my eyes stayed closed to long, they'll never open again. So cold! Now I know how some people die with their eyes open. They too did not want to give in to the cold. They too fought with every ounce of energy they could produce. So cold! My minding is screaming out "ITS NOT MY TIME TO DIE". But then I hear a voice and it says "yes it is". No longer do I feel so cold

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
