    As I Die Slowly

What the hell is going on
    with this crazy world today?
    Sentencing innocent people to die
    each and every day.

What was once rumored to be the gay man's disease
is now spreading across the world,
from man to woman, woman to man
    and every boy and girl.

    Do you people not understand
    this is an epidemic war,
    if we can't help ourselves
    what are we fighting for?

Too many people have become infected
    with this "love-sick" disease,
it has mercy on no one
    and now you're begging "please".

"Please don't take my life away"
"I'm sorry for what I've done",
    "I've made a terrible mistake"
"I know I'm not the only one".

There are thousands fo lives every year
that is stripped from this earth,
for every life, there is a death
    like babies infected at birth.

Do you want to be responsible
for the dreadful fate of a child?
    Risk their life and future
because you want to act wild?

    Get your priorities straight
    AIDS isn't for us all,
why should we take the blame
    for your downfall?

I'm not saying that it's right
maybe you don't deserve it either,
but when you know you're hot
    don't pass on the fever.

    You may not be able
    to fix unwanted mistakes,
but change your life for the better
    do whatever it takes.

    AIDS will never be gone
but you can slow it down,
give others a chance to live
so we can try to bring this down.

If you continue to kill yourself and others
you'll only be sad and lonely,
    living in a dreadful world
    as you die slowly.
