The Friend

Have you ever wondered
how you get through life each day,
and if the dreams you wish for
come true each time you pray?
Has it ever crossed your mind
that your accomplishments might be fate,
or that so many troubled times
could be left upon your plate?
How do you handle disappointment?
How do you handle stress?
How do you handle troubled times
and the moment that you're blessed?
Who can you really talk to
when you need a helping hand?
Who can be that special friend
that knows and understands?
There may be certain candidates
but there's one who knows you best,
and He's the only one that administers
this different kind of test.
He doesn't grade you on performance
He grades you on your skill,
and if the the burden's too big to carry
don't worry about it, He will.
So from "Footprints in the Sand"
to the blessings that you pray,
God will watch you carefully
and guide you through each day.

An excellent poem in reference to Our Excellency - I truly loved this poem - a rhyme and reason with Grace... KD

Thank you very much! I appreciate you taking the time to read it. This particular poem means a lot to me!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
