Autumn
As the days begin in daylight to reduce,
The rustic leaves our hearts seduce.
With red, yellow and brown to be told,
A beautiful landscape it does unfold.
Squirrels storing their nuts ere it’s too late,
While hedgehogs seek a place to hibernate.
Migrating birds warmer climates do seek,
A chill in the cooling air, not for the meek.
Warmer clothes needed at no small cost,
Readying ourselves for the impending frost.
The loss of summer we ask for what reason,
Nature preparing for the changing season.
