The Joys of Spring
From the throes of winter comes beckoning the spring,
The air is filled by migrating birds in flight do bring.
From the fading winter the cold does start to mellow,
The crocus pushes their heads up from the ground below.
The rains they come to water all with showers,
Days grow longer as the meadows yield their flowers.
From the budding trees the birds sing a tuneful song,
My heart yearns for summer with its days so long.
The insects mate on the wing so high,
With graceful air the swallows fly.
The busy bees do fragrant blossoms seek,
The rabbits do they forage so meek.
The days grow warmer as time moves on,
Time to remember of opportunities gone.
Seek to protect this very special bliss,
Not to lose by global warming remiss.
