    Beauty

    Beauty--
    the very
    word
    fractures
    this heart
    into
    fragments
    of failure;
    instantly
    splitting
    body from
    soul
    like Death
    waiting
    for its funeral.

    Someone was saying something to me about a piece I wrote and posted titled, "Less Than Perfect" and it reminded me about this short piece of yours here dealing with vanity and security, so I came back to re-read it again... Same subject matter, only you captured most of it in just a few, short yet, very clear lines of thought... Again, well done.... If you get a chance, I'd enjoy you reading my piece and hearing what you think about it.. Doug

    Vanity is a self inflicted punishment noone deserves and takes an over-measured toll on the soul's security with each passing year... But, there comes a point in time, where life's experiences and the growing knowledge of people soon begin to give us the realization that the true essence of beauty in everyone lies in their personality, their character, and comes from their heart... Youth has it's time in the sun to shine, and act bulletproof, and oblivious to cares of it's own impending demise with time.. But, it's future lies in growing older, just like everyone else; if it's so fortunate to make it that far.... Good, short write..

    Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

    Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
