    Before I Close My Eyes

    Tonight I sleep,

    With hopes of soothing dreams

    And calm waves of peace.

    Tomorrow I will wake,

    With luck,

To a day filled with laughter

    Joy,

    Another passing of the hours

As we struggle to make true

    the visions from our rest.

    I ask not for mine,

But for the hopes of the three who hold my heart.

May all that they see while they sleep come true.
