BLACK AND BEAUTIFUL

Her name is Ebony.
Smooth, dark and velvety is her appearance.
She is very much admired by all.

Everyone strain their necks to get a glimpse of her.
They even ask for permission before they touch her.
She is a real beauty.

She needs no adornment of ornaments;
Decorations or other fanciful things.
She is a beauty all on her own.

She has a queenly step.
She is almost always gentle with those around her.
No one has complaints.

Like a black jeweled pearl;
She stands at a distance!
I love my adorable Ebony!

I can ride her in safety,
As she canters along the path,
Her coat glistening in the sunshine.

So my black and beautiful Ebony,
My adorable friend;
Come along with me into the pleasant marshes;
For a ride away from my plight!

An imagination of beauty, grace and poise; this poem helps us to appreciate the abstract.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
