Poem Commentary

I ENJOY NATURE. I SOMETIMES USE IT AS AN EXAMPLE TO INTERPRET LIFE. MAN HAS MOVED AWAY FROM THE "LAWS OF NATURE", AND HAVE CREATED CHAOS OVER TIME, EVEN BEFORE THE APPEARANCE OF CHRITS HIMSELF.

THE AUTUMN OF LIFE

In real life, the "tree" of society has turning "leaves" in these same variety of colors.
The green leaves in society, are the young people with their vigor and vitality.
There are varying shades of green on a tree - soft, tender and fragile to the hard sturdy that are the "backbone" of the tree.
The varying shades of the "green leaves" in society's "tree", range from infancy to the teenage years.

The "green leaves" with tiny spots of yellow, can depict society's young adults; ages 20 to 25.
These are the explorers; the go-getters; who may still be making some choices in life.
They may have experienced some disappointments in life; some hurt and some betrayals, even in love.

The yellow-green leaves from ages 26 to 35, are in the prime of their childbearing and child rearing years.
They might have even decided to return to school at a higher level for  the expansion of self to serve in a better capacity.
They may be young junior managers or supervisors aiming for a promotion; or are in the essence of career stability and are just comfortable where they are.

Because of the ingredients and nutrients of physiological thoughts; ideologies; experience and skills; backgrounds and cultural orientations; received from society's roots of this cultural "tree",
These three age groups; through the "branches" of parents, guardians, teachers, social workers, pastors, club associations, and a mixture of various cultures; are the ones that the older folks depend upon to have future leaders filtered out from among them.

The yellow leaves are the senior managers and CEOs; those who have evolved as entrepreneurs; or those who just like their jobs in their current positions. They have some clout or authority in these positions; and now focus on the next generation instead of mainly on self. They reach out a hand to help those who have chosen the same vocation as theirs, up the next rounds of the career ladder.

The light-brown leaves, help to propel their human counter-parts of all ages;
Along the paths that they have chosen.
They give counsel, guidance, supervision, and direct or indirect support.
They share their knowledge on effective and efficient organization, marketing, and cost containment; with the senior administrative staff of CEOs, Senior Managers, Foremen and others.
They are the "buffer system as in the case of the light-brown leaves of a tree.

They "crispy brown leaves" have retired.
They support the "tree of society" by volunteering; sharing their knowledge of skills and trades; or teaching others.
They may not be racial;
Their interest is in society at large, even worldwide.
They want the world to be a better place; and may even feel guilt for areas they could have been helpful in at one time.
Because of this, they sometimes get into the way for trying too hard.

When these "crispy brown leaves "eventually fall off of the "tree",
They play a supportive role to everyone, especially society's roots of education and training. "TRAIN UP A BOY SO THAT WHEN HE(SHE) GROWS, THEY WON'T STRAY AWAY FROM IT".
They may no longer be very active in society because of poor health;
but may enjoy some visits.
THEY TELL THE SAME STORY OVER AND OVER.

Society as we;; as our own selves, expect that we play a specific role according to our current stage of growth and development.

Each milestone in our lives is important. We learn new roles at each stage.

Thank you jademelissa. I am very much interested in nature, and often compare life to it.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
