    Blink of An Eye

    My anger is neither subtle nor paltry.
    Madness lurks under
    A smile plastered on my face.
    My eyes glassy,
    Not from tears;
    From seething rage.
    Trust shattered with the
    Blink of an eye
    That held No Shame.
    Fear that begs to be shut away,
    Put in a pretty box with a beautiful bow
    Pretending all is as it was.
    No one saw when hope fled,
    Leaving me
    Bloody and shredded.
    No one saw when I died that day;
    Died deader than a door nail...
    To what ever life had been.
