Crack and the White Picket Fence

    Sweet frames that held
    Times precious
    Bubbled and placed in new
    Cardboard boxes leaving
    Stark naked walls
Stripped of all that truly matters.

    Mothers treasures passed
Down from her own and then to me
    Lie in yesterdays newspaper
    Whose headline should scream
    In huge black print
    Lives Blown Up.

are you capable of writing anything that is NOT wonderful? you intimidate me into writing again, after a 20 year lapse. (note: watch spelling, ie precious.it didn't bother me, but would others)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
