    Poem Commentary

Dedicated to my 27 month old granddaughter, LillyAna Rose.

    Butterflies

I wish that words were butterflies

Then all my thoughts would fill the skies

Each day to catch you by surprise

As all my love delights your eyes

    Nevermore to say good-bye

For where you are there they would fly

Glad to be your friend this is short to the point. Like it a lot.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
